Flooring

Planed, tongue & grooved flooring can be used in a variety of flooring applications.  Redwood flooring is the best option for use as a clear stained floor as it has a smooth planed surface and attractive appearance.  Whitewood flooring is ideal for use where carpet, tile or wood flooring is the final flooring surface.

  • The tongue & groove joint provides a stable base while allowing for natural movement and expansion.  There is no need to glue the joint.
  • Flooring should be 'conditioned' in situ for 2-3 weeks dependant upon conditions.  As timber is a natural product this will give it time to absorb or lose moisture so that when fitted there is less likelihood of excess movement after fitting.
  • Note: In some ares of the country, Dressed All Round (DAR) / Planed Square Edge (PSE) is used as floorboards.

Latest Covid Update

Latest Covid News - Monday 7th September

In response to Covid-19 we implemented our new ‘Safe Systems of Work Plan’ and ‘Branch Operating Procedures’. This has been in place since we re-opened our branches to our customers. We do ask however that you show some patience and understanding in that we will not be able to provide the full access that we have always operated previously.

Our Ayrshire depot is still operating an appointed time for collections policy although we will, at all times, seek to provide some flexibility. To enable maximum efficiency at all branches, we ask that you phone in advance, or use the website to place click and collect orders which will enable our yard and warehouse staff to pre-pick your order and have it ready in the designated area for collection.

Our main priority remains ensuring we protect the health, safety and welfare of our staff, customers, suppliers, and the wider communities in which we operate. We are adapting to the changes necessitated by the COVID-19 virus, but we also realise that this applies to everyone. Should there be anything you believe would improve how we implement our new operating procedures, or that we must equally respect when delivering to your premises, please do contact the Branch Manager of the Branch you deal with.
