Slip Resistant Decking

Decking with in-built anti-slip strips designed to prevent slips and falls.

Process
Anti-slip strips are factory applied to the decking. A blend of resin, fillers and hard-wearing anti-slip aggregates are injected
into grooves of the decking and allowed to cure. The aggregate on the finished strips sits proud of the timber surface. It
provides hardwood and softwood decking with additional grip, particularly in wet or icy weather. The anti-slip strips are
applied before the application of stains or preservatives.

Benefits
The aggregate and resin infills give a certain amount of protection against wear. More importantly, the strips provide
additional grip under foot for pedestrians, particularly when timbers are wet or icy, thus reducing the risks of slips and falls.
The product has been tested to BS7976-2: 2002 in accordance with the guidelines recommended by the U.K. Slip Resistance
Group. We recommend two strips of non-slip for domestic applications and three strips for commercial and public areas.

Sizes
Anti-slip strips can be applied to deck boards with grooves that have a width of between 5-10mm and a depth between
4-6mm. Deck boards are available in a choice of profiles – smooth and grooved. To further enhance your deck, we are able
to offer a factory finish coating which will protect the look of your deck for a minimum of five years.

Latest Covid Update

Latest Covid News - Thursday 1st October

In response to Covid-19 we implemented our new ‘Safe Systems of Work Plan’ and ‘Branch Operating Procedures’. This has been in place since we re-opened our branches to our customers. We do ask however that you show some patience and understanding in that we will not be able to provide the full access that we have always operated previously.

Our Ayrshire depot is still operating an appointed time for collections policy although we will, at all times, seek to provide some flexibility. To enable maximum efficiency at all branches, we ask that you phone in advance, or use the website to place click and collect orders which will enable our yard and warehouse staff to pre-pick your order and have it ready in the designated area for collection.

Our main priority remains ensuring we protect the health, safety and welfare of our staff, customers, suppliers, and the wider communities in which we operate. We are adapting to the changes necessitated by the COVID-19 virus, but we also realise that this applies to everyone. Should there be anything you believe would improve how we implement our new operating procedures, or that we must equally respect when delivering to your premises, please do contact the Branch Manager of the Branch you deal with.
